Pergola Installation Guide

BRAMBLECREST PERGOLA INSTALLATION SERVICE

Our comprehensive pergola installation service (available at checkout for £499), performed by our trained team, encompasses delivery, assembly, including any screens and louvered panels. Installation lead times typically range from 4-6 weeks. Please reach out to us to verify current lead times. Once your online order is placed, we'll promptly contact you to schedule a convenient installation date. By opting for our installation service and completing payment, you are confirming your agreement to adhere to the terms of the pre-installation guide and assembly and installation service terms and disclaimer, outlined below. Failure to comply with the guide may result in additional fees for our team's return.

KEY CONSIDERATIONS

Aluminium louvered roof pergolas are designed to utilize the natural fall of your existing surface for rain drainage, requiring a slight incline. It's essential to accurately measure the area and ensure a flat surface with a maximum 1:80 fall, as per building regulations. Any deviation from this standard requires prior notification, as it may necessitate the use of packers to adjust the pergola legs. Our installers can accommodate adjustments up to 50mm using spacers without affecting your warranty. For optimal fitting of deluxe screens, a 10mm fall is recommended to ensure smooth operation. Note that packers or adjustments may be necessary if the fall exceeds this recommendation.

Surface Compatibility:

Our team is proficient in fixing pergolas to various surfaces, including:

- Concrete
- Paving slabs
- Wood decking
- Composite decking
- Porcelain tiles

Pre-Installation Groundwork:

For optimal stability and peace of mind, it's crucial to securely mount your pergola onto a solid foundation. Beneath the finished surface, a stable substrate such as a concrete pad is essential for secure anchoring. Prior to our installation, it's imperative that all groundwork is adequate and, where necessary, completed. Please note that our installers are not authorized to perform groundwork tasks, so you may need to enlist the assistance of a local handyman for this preparation. This is your responsibility and we urge you to check all relevant groundwork requirements prior to ordering. We shall not be responsible nor liable for any required groundwork.

INSTALLATION RECOMMENDATIONS

Concrete Pad: We highly recommend utilizing Blue Circle High Strength Postcrete spec 40N for the concrete pad. It's crucial to ensure that the pad's slope matches that of the designated surface for optimal stability.

Detailed Floorplans: Detailed floorplans for each pergola model are readily available on our website. These plans enable you to clearly identify the precise positioning of the pergola's footplates. Simply visit www.Bramblecrest.com and navigate to the product pages.

Selecting Pergola Size: Before initiating any groundwork, it's advisable to finalize your pergola size selection. However, if you've already laid the patio or deck, it's imperative to verify the robustness of the surface foundations. This is your sole responsibility.

Choice of Materials: Materials such as Type1, sand, cement, or concrete are inadequate unless they contain ballast, which is provided by Blue Circle Postcrete.

Installation on Composite Decking: When installing your pergola on composite decking without a solid base beneath, ensure there are structural beams aligned with the footplates for secure bolting. We recommend using postcrete pads of 400mm³ beneath tiles or decking, or structural joists under the decking, to enhance stability.

Drilling and Fixing: In most instances, we utilize 70-120mm steel bolts, or steel threaded bar set into the ground with quick cure polyester resin and diamond drill bits for porcelain tiles. Additional packing may occasionally be necessary to achieve correct levels, with packing sizes ranging from 5-50mm. If there's an aco drain where the foot of the pergola will be positioned, please contact us for further guidance.

Note on Porcelain Tiles: While our team exercises extreme caution when drilling porcelain tiles, please be aware that we cannot be held responsible for tile cracking due to surface laying or proximity to grout lines. Fixing into porcelain tiles will incur an additional fee due to the expense of specialized tools and added time required for meticulous completion. If you agree to us drilling and fixing into porcelain tiles, all works undertaken will be at your risk and you agree to waive any and all rights against us for any damage caused. Accordingly, we shall not be liable for any damage to porcelain tiles, unless caused by our negligence.

Electrical Installations: Our installation team is not trained in electrical work. Therefore, for any heater installations, please arrange for a qualified local electrician to perform the fitting. We shall not be responsible nor liable for any electrical or gas installations whatsoever.

Installation Note:

Please note, cover caps can not be fitted if Bramblecrest are installing the pergola with blinds. If you wish to have cover caps, the blinds will need to be installed by a 3rd party after the pergola has been fitted to the ground. Bolts caps will be supplied instead of cover caps if Bramblecrest installs the pergola and blinds.

[Note – this would also include wear and time over time and natural discolouration .]

Protection of Property: Understand that we will not be liable for any damage to your decking, patio, paving, garden, or general property resulting from the use of bolts, anchoring, or other materials necessary to secure the item. Refusal to secure the item properly, against advice, will be at the customer's sole risk.

Our Pergola Installation service is conducted by a proficient two-man installation team. They will handle delivery, unpacking, construction at the agreed location, and removal of any packaging and waste from the construction site.

We reserve the right to apply additional charges at any time for assembly deemed complex or non-standard, such as construction over hot tubs or jacuzzis and on surfaces like porcelain.

To ensure the best working environment for our installation team, we kindly request that customers prepare the designated area adequately. This includes covering or relocating items like hot tubs, BBQs, kitchens, furniture, and other belongings. Please note that we shall not accept any responsibility or liability for any damage to these items if they are not appropriately covered or relocated. Additionally, we advise that all other contractors engaged by you with regards to any preparation or other work at the premises finish their work before our team's scheduled arrival to avoid any disruptions.
